For this tutorial, I will be using the image from...

This tutoral assumes you already have the USB created, and that you have a blank hard drive with no bootable OS installed on it.
I will not be covering advanced subjects like dual boot. Let's begin.
Ususally, if there is no OS on your hard drive, it will just boot from the USB drive. If it doesn't you may see something similar to this. I do not show a USB drive on this example screen, but you should see something like "UEFI USB Device". Just use your up and down arrow keys, and press "Enter" to select your USB drive.
Assuming all goes well, you should see something like this. This is called a grub boot menu. This usually only appears for a few seconds. You can interrupt it by using the up and down arrow keys. For now, we will just go with the top option "Start Fedora KDE-Live 41" and press [Enter].
You should then see this screen. You can try a few things here, and see if your network works, your sound card and things like that. Or, you can just click on the "Install to Hard Drive" icon in the center of the screen. Go ahead and click on this.
Thhat will bring up this screen. Use your mouse to select which language you want to use. On the right side you can select the dialect of the language you want to use. Once this is done, click on "Continue" at the bottom of the screen.
You will then see this screen. Notice three of the items have red colored text below them, next to a yellow triangle. This means we need to enter more information. Go ahead and click on the "Installation Destination" icon.
You will see this screen. If you have multiple hard drives, just click on the one you want to install to. It should have a black check mark on it after you have selected it. For now, we will just go with the "Automatic" storage configuration option. Click on "Done" at the top. This will bring us back to the previous screen. Go ahead and click on network and host name.
Enter whatever you want your computer to be named here. No space allowed. Then click on "Done" near the top of the screen.
That takes us back to the previous screen again. Go ahead and click on the "Root Account" icon.
One thing that most fedora/redhat distro's do that most Debian/Ubuntu distro's do not do, is create a root password in the installer. This is nove because you have a "backdoor" so to speak if you forget your user passord. It's always good to have a second way in. Remember this password! Write it down if necessary. Then click on "Done" near the top of the screen. This will return you to the previous screen once again.
Go ahead and type in your username and password here. No spaces are allowed in the username. You'll have to enter the password twice to make sure you didn't make a mistake the first time. Remember this password! If you forget it, you will not be able login to your computer!
Now none of our icons should have a yellow triangle or red text near them. Go agead and click on "Begin Installation".
Now you will see this screen, with a blue bar going across the bottom. This can take several minutes to complete, depending on fast your computer is.
When it is done, go ahead and click on "Finish Installation". That will take you back to where we started.
Click on the little circular "f" icon in the bottom left corner.
You will see a "Restart" option near the bottom of this menu. Go ahead and click on it. Once the screen goes black, go ahead and remove your USB thumb drive.
Now your computer should reboot to your login screen. Go ahead and type in the password I told you to remember, and press [Enter]
Congratulations. You have just logged into your new Fedora Linux computer. You can go through the tutorial if you like. I recommend it if you haven't used Linux before,
When you are done with the tutorial, click on the "f" icon at the bottom left corner. This is where all your programs are.
Happy Linux'ing!
