installed a ova of blackarch on a vm no wifi

just installed it on virtual machine. it was an ova not a offline. so all i had to do whas press enter to start (;
problem is i cant figure out how to connect. i set nat to bridged connections but that did nothing and i have an ethernet cable plugged in rn but wicd cant figure out how to connect me and it shows no availible networks.
ive tried things on 4 year old videos to 2 year old videos all of them just make it worse and i have to do a fresh install which takes 1.4 hours.
the ova is 34.5 gigs. my network adapter is a realtek 8821AE i think and thats all i know..
i just want internet so i can sherlock my classm8s.

ill install remote connection software if needed.

it has wicd installed and i dont understand how to use it because even though i have bridged adapters enabled on my vm it says no wireless connections?
and even when i have an ethernet cable in my laptop it cant detect it..
