Hi, I just need to install ubuntu 16.04 on Asus Tuf Dash F15. But when I try to install it, I got a problem like in the picture below. I've been trying to install ubuntu 20.04 on that device and it's work, I can do the installation without any problem.

The reason I still need to install ubuntu 16.04 in that device is because I have needs on that ubuntu version.

G'day slamiafi, welcome to Linux.org

What is it that Ubuntu 16.04 can do, that Ubuntu 20.04 cannot do

In theory, they could get 3 more years of 16.04 by signing up for Ubuntu Advantage (free for 3 computers) and using ESM. ESM is just security updates and nothing more.

For more information: https://ubuntu.com/16-04

Upgrading to a more recent version is more than easy now days, no need to stick to an extended support of Ubuntu 16.04 unless you have a company running on it.

By all means, I'd advise a newer release - after all, they'd potentially get even longer support.

My post was merely a point of information. They *can* keep using it if they really, really want to.

Unless there's a very exacting hardware reason, I strongly urge a more recent release.

Ubuntu 18.04 will be updated for 10 years, until 2028.
