Hello everyone,
Please, I have been trying to install the VMware workstation pro 17 but all to no avail. Can someone lead me through, please?

G'day ismo, Welcome to linux.org

I have no expereince with VM's so somebody else will see your topic and respond.

In order to help them to help you, some more info would be necessary

Which Linux are you using?
What are the specs of your pc...ram, hdd/ssd etc
What progress have you made/what have you tried/done so far

Thank you so much, Condobloke.

I am using the Centos8 distro

PC specs: 1 TB SSD, 16GB RAM, 4 CPU

I have been trying to install the VMware Workstation Pro 17 but I can't. I would appreciate anyone who could give me a direct link.

CentOS 8 has reached end of life on Dec 31, 2021 - you really need to move on to something else since it is no longer supported, so whatever dependencies that are need your OS has no more active repositories to get them - hence it cannot install

Are you installing this on windows or Linux?

On Windows you have Hyper-V which is superior to VMware.

Regular Windows workstation doesn't support hyper-V. You have to have Workstation "Professional" or an Enterprise version of Windows.

I am installing on windows, pls.

You will need admin rights on the PC. You will need virtualization enabled in the BIOS/UEFI.
You will need a CPU that supports virtualization. If you have all of that, just double click on the
exe or msi file.

If you don't have license, it only works for 30 days.

no offense meant but why are we trying to help with windows?

Worse, it was in 'forum assistance'.

It is now in off topic.
