I would use Gparted from the live USB and remove all partitions on that drive and create a new one from scratch then format it, since you can get into the bios now, which is a good thing - might be a corrupted partition or a bad spot on the drive
It actually has a hhd password and a win partition..everything is gone.
Still the installation stuck at the logo...i have a couple of bad usb sticks..i might replace them tomorow.
Tomorow i will post more about the installation. Thanks

I don't want to wade through 100 posts.

Just in case, I'll ask: How are you making your installation media, the USBs? How are you writing the .iso to USB?

Think they either have a bad thumb drive- a bad spot on their hard drive - I did suggest to @Balki to try Unetbootin or Rufus in my post #31 but got no reply back on that - but at least they gor their BIOS password sorted out

yes...Yesterday..i made different test.
1-my usb sticks were useless, i guess i burn them in some moment.
2-Changed the stick and back to boot. i try rufus, balenaetcher..
3- Ubuntu 22.04 freeze on the logo. Lubuntu Freeze on the logo. Debian...Freeze on 60% open partitioner.

There is some thread from 2012, about Debian. Freezing if the partition is formatted. I can access with the tool from https://paul.is-a-geek.org/aio-srt/ (basically a lubuntu stripped) and work around...see the disk, format it.

But not Ideas are welcome. Is this machine (acertravelmate 8573t) powerful enough for ubuntu 22.04? IT only has 4gb ram. (i can add new ran. But first i want to have something working on it)
Again Ideas are welcome.

I just tried again, delete partition and install lubuntu. And I did my homework and I had a photo. The most complete is booting the installation and the second one is in graphical safe mode, I don't recall exactly.

I know what my next move would be, but unless you need to have the bits,
remove the hard drive, connect it to another computer using a usb to ? [this end depends on if it's ATA or SATA] and wipe + reformat FATS and re-install then try again

I can do it from the stick. But I never formatted if like fat. I did it as the Linux format or tried without partition, just raw. I will tried. What about the log, that I posted?

Basically what it is telling you is, you have an incomplete or corrupt install medium, it's gone back into default mode looking for multiple disc installations
dose it have an optical drive? if so have you tried using a DVD-R to install

Yes. I just buy a new pensive.. and tells me the same. I don't have another cd-rom to burn from.
Basically I flash the usb, as the website told me. And it failed again.

Is there any way that I can use a small distro...install that. And the move forward with a internet connection?

Hello!
Im trying to dual boot in a brand new Acer Aspire A315-56 windows 10
Unlucky
already tried with 3 hdd
disabled bios fastboot/ secureboot... in the linux system started on bootable pendrive dont recognized the harddrive so reading foruns it was solved make the system suspend (SYSTEMCTL SUSPEND) on linux terminal. when system wakes up there is the hdd. (acer community said that is coused by firmware incompatibility)

instaling linux everything goes ok but on linux starting shows an INITRAMFS error

however one of those hdd is runing PARROT Linux but after it instaled fine, windows 10 fist instaled now cant boot anymore. but parrot is runing fine.

I care about dont showing answers and hope that some above information could help to bring some solutions.

Follows the INITRAMSF error and some falied atempts to solve it, the danger warning is couse the tap is already broken and i need to remember to be very carreful closing it.
if i could say something to someone who wants to buy a laptop i should just say dont buy ACER

thank you all!

Welcome

Believe it or not, there are worse makes to work on...

That is partly because Acer are in bed with Microsoft and most of their regulars probably don't know anything about Linux, I have 2 old acers and yes both were not easy to install Linux to, they definitely didn't like dual boot,,
You may have problems with Parrot as it is built as a distribution for internet security experts, and a lot of the common codes you find in Ubuntu are not included, and you are warned if you install anything not in the Parrot repository you are in danger of breaking your system.
As the Acer has the latest kit, I would recommend you try MX21-AHS, you may have better luck,

I chosed parrot couse im learning from hackthebox.com but i ll try your sugestion. Couse we can learn ethical hacking even on windows and more with any kind of GNU/linux OS.

so its hard to understand why one hdd is running parrot but dont windows,
another can see both windows and parrot efi boot on the grub screen but show INITRASMSF when starting parrot.
that first one was only with kali on my "beggining linux adventure" but after 1 month shows INITRASMSF error and dont started, now formated with windows 10 and dual with parrot but cant start windows. "and i just waiting for initramsf error".

thanks

Have you set the bios password yet, this is something you have to
do to grant yourself rights beneath the surface on a lot of acer laptops.
Otherwise you will not be able to even install a fresh windows OS on
such a device, its trickery to keep people from uninstalling windows or trying to use a different OS.

Now that was a wrong choice, Kali is so designed that you already need to be proficient with Linux and conversant with all the main terminal codes before you even try.
Now a little tip, professional security specialist do not run Kali or the pen testing version of Parrot on their main drive, For protection they will use either a dedicated machine, a VM [most common] or a persistent pen-drive,
Now I am a bit bias here, but you will not find the pen-testing forums vary newbie friendly, most won’t even answer any question they think is from a newbie, Parrot has quite a friendly forum by most standards, but you are still expected to attempt to fix your own problems before you ask, and give all relevant information in your question,
and best of luck with your studies

Yes, now i know that.
I was never worked on Linux before,
I bought this notebook to start a webcode home School.
So i realized that Linux was required and on this time knew htb.
On htb rules is saing about hacker risk.
Unfortunately this my only machine and i chose to have no MAIN machine just learning machine.

thank you
