So, why install a snap? What's wrong with just installing from Repository with: sudo apt install vlc

Yes, I also prefer sudo apt install. The snaps use more data and sometimes are less stable. That was my experience with Firefox.

i'm not sure if things have chaged now, but i try to avoid using snaps evey now and then on the latest ubuntu 20.04

There's nothing wrong with the first two methods, ammine007. There's not much right with the third. The snaps are just not built and managed very well. Maybe someday ...
