Thinking of installing 18.1 but one of the install options is to install 18.1 next to 17.3 and choose which one you want to use every time you use computer. I don't want to do a clean install and I don't want to constantly choose OS. Is there a way around that?

Version 18.1 will make itself the default after installing... all Linux distros do that, so the last one installed is default. But after the install you can change GRUB to make 17.3 the default instead. If you don't like how much time it allows to choose between them (10 sec) then you can reduce that as well in the GRUB config.

Thanks so much! That solves a lot of annoyance issues.
