hey everyone, im new here, i use linux on virtualbox on my windows OS previously, but now i want to boot linux on ssd, is there anyone that ever do this give me some advice
All manusiahiu asked for was an answer to his question.( but the way you put the question tells me that either you wanted to joke on this forum or you are not going to install a Linux Distro on a "real" computer ...)
Sorry, man, if my question seems like a joke because I actually want to do dualboot but my laptop storage is not enough, and booting from a flash drive is very slow, so it occurred to me whether it is possible to boot Linux on an external SSD, and if possible, are there any special SSD specifications, that's why I'm asking, maybe someone has already done itSuggesting to play more on Virtual Box... Enable Secure Boot EFI in virtual machine, download an iso file of the Windows 10 , make 2 partitions on the VM ( if you have idea what is that a partition ) , install Windows 10 on one partition , then boot the VM from a Linux Distro iso image .... and try to figure it out how to install it on the 2nd partition alongside with Windows .... Good Luck ! ( but the way you put the question tells me that either you wanted to joke on this forum or you are not going to install a Linux Distro on a "real" computer ...)
OK so lets talk about speed, this will depend on your machine, your speed will be controlled by your USB bus if you have a USB 3 then it doesn't matter what the speed rating of the SSD is, it will still only run at the bus speed of the US port, for example, if you have a USB2 port there is no point in using a usb3 pen-drive. Your best bet would be to increase the size of the internal storage.I actually want to do dualboot but my laptop storage is not enough, and booting from a flash drive is very slow,

I really don't know and want to ask, is it possible if I connect an external SSD not with USB but with Type C, is that possible?OK so lets talk about speed, this will depend on your machine, your speed will be controlled by your USB bus if you have a USB 3 then it doesn't matter what the speed rating of the SSD is, it will still only run at the bus speed of the US port, for example, if you have a USB2 port there is no point in using a usb3 pen-drive. actually it is thunderbolt, so i can connect the external ssd to type c and still booting ?Type c is just the name for a small USB port/connector, it will still depend on your machine as to how fast it will run, if you have the hand book look at connections and see how the c port is described if it says thunderbolt then this is quicker than USB3 and similar to USB4
