cd Downloads
sudo apt install ./google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
It *should* not, unless there's some Mint weirdness that I'm unfamiliar with. I just tested it (albeit with Ubuntu in a VM) and it did exactly what it should have done.@KGIII - just a heads up that the above method (sudo apt install &c) may generate an error about sandboxing.
You have applied the lesson but it has not been updatedAssuming it's in you Downloads folder, open your terminal with CTRL ALT T.
However, you should be able to update it just fine with 'sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y', assuming it's properly installed along with the repository. You shouldn't need to download a .deb each time it updates. It should update with the remainder of your system.Code:cd Downloads sudo apt install ./google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
Edit: I also just realized that's not Chrome. I couldn't tell what browser it was. So, ignore the above bit about updating.
Sorry, but if the download is in another place such as another drive, it does. It is academic if the OP (original poster, that is you, Tariq) has it in downloads. It *should* not, unless there's some Mint weirdness that I'm unfamiliar with. I just tested it (albeit with Ubuntu in a VM) and it did exactly what it should have done.
I get what you're saying now - and no need to be sorry.Sorry, but if the download is in another place such as another drive,

I can not put bug pictures on the forumNot unless you can launch Google Chrome.
Tarek, where did you download the .deb file to?
Was it to /home/tarek/Downloads ? Or if not, where to?
If it was to Downloads, you have to type 2 commands, as @KGIII said above
WizardCode:cd Downloads sudo apt install ./google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
It's case sensitive. You typed "Upgrade".
From your list of packages, you already have Google Chrome installed - or at least already have the repository.
If you need to, copy and paste...
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
Aptitude doesn't recognize 'Upgrade'.
