Install = black screen (solydK - Zorin etc...)

I am a newbee - I installed successfully some distros (antiX - Legacy - Mint...), but I encountered a great number of times, lately with SOLYK and ZORIN7, a similar problem:
after install is completed, I reboot, and have a black screen only, with mouse pointer working..
I would try yo understand what is the cause of this...

I would have to think graphics drivers are the issue. What is your computers system specs?

This happened on a DELL dimension 4600 and the screen display is on a NEC LC15m _ but a previous install of Zorin 6 was OK with this config, so I am not sure that's the answer to the problem.

It uses Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Shared video memory. And 512 mb ram. Have you upgraded the ram? Is a different graphics card installed?
