Either the app will have a preferences area where that would be set....

or the app may take your preference from your browser

Click on Settings top left hand corner....then settings again.....the screen that opens is in the pic below.

You can set the download directory there.

This is for general Linux use if you want to download to a given folder, [I expect when it is set up for it to to work with your downloader when you select the download directory]
open your home folder, then open downloads right click on any space and make a new folder, call it Ancestry or whatever, ok and close, when you go to your chosen site, click download, you will be given a choice where to save it select downloads, then ancestry and click ok,
You should probably use a translator
I think he is already using DeepL

If you use Arch, I recommend you use
Sudo pacman -S JDownloader then flatpack if you want it to see the whole PC. I have a problem with JDownloader flatpack version to make it find my second HDD

Isn't that for the Windows version??? Not Linux.
Ist das nicht für die Windows-Version??? Nicht Linux.
The folder is made free so that the JD
can access it in a Linux system
under Windows this is not necessary.

Ja und nein. Für mich klingt das nach Windows, aber ich kann mich irren.
Die englischen Übersetzungen dieser Startseite.

yes and no. for me that sound like Windows but i can be wrong.
The Eng translations of that homepage.

1. First open the settings of the program and make sure that the folder exists under "Downloads directory".
2. If so, go to that folder and right-click inside. Then select "Properties" and switch to the "Security" tab.
3. Here you can see who can access this folder. To edit these rights, click "Advanced" below. The "Administrators" group should have full access here.
4. However, if this folder does not exist or you cannot adjust the rights, specify a new folder for the downloads.
5. You should also make sure that you have entered the download path correctly and that no spaces or typos have crept in.
6. In some cases, the error also appears when the name of the file you are trying to download is too long. Therefore, right-click on the download and select "Rename".
7. Often a restart of the download or a complete reinstallation of the JDownloader can help.

If you use the JDownloader under Linux Mint 20,3 ciamon
and it can't save the partition where your download folder is, then you have to go to the folder on the partition where you
partition where the folder is that you want to use for the downloads.in with the right button click, and in as Admin open, then on settings security and then as user register instead of the home entry, then the write and read rights set that fixed again close
and confirm the link to the download folder in JDownloder and restart in, then it should use the entered folder for the
for the download.

but is that the flatpak version or the repo version. There is 2 versions out there and the flatpak version is more isoleted then the repo is and you may need to use command like
Code:
flatpak override --user --filesystem=/mnt/Download
org.jdownloader.JDownloader
to make it work even if it has not work for me.

Update
what you talk about is this right.

Screenshot_36.png

that only help to find Downloade folder my problem is that the flatpak versions can't find the second HDD at all only the home folder and cant see the MNT folder at all. and thats why i use the Repo made for arch.
with
Code:
Sudo pacman -S JDownloader
