Hello all,

I'm still fairly new to this so please bare with me. I'm currently having a issue with my one of my device storage capacity. From running fdisk I notice my boot device
Code:
/dev/sda1
is completely used up 19Gb out of 19GB.

I was able to edit the VM settings and increase the capacity to 50GB. The 30GB that is left was allocated to
Code:
/dev/sda3
. Please see attachment. My goal is to increase or resize my primary boot device from 19GB to the max size of 50GB without losing any data.

Can anyone show me what commands I can run to execute this? Anything is helpful including reference links.

Thanks

After increasing it in your VM, you have to boot to a live USB (again, in the VM) and use something like GParted to "grow" the partition to the new size. The VM doesn't just see and use the space, you have to actually grow the partition to use it. This is easiest with a live ISO booted as the CD device during the boot process. (F12 with VBox.)
