can anyone tell me what os is the best for software enginering
Fedora, CentOS, Arch Linux, Gentoo or Open Suse.;)

-:::-Gentoo has to be built.-:::-

Any GNU/Linux distribution, but you will probably be better off with a rolling release distribution or a distribution such as Ubuntu than Centos/Rhel because those ship with much older software and libraries. Since most developers prefer the latest and greatest software and libraries.

As a professional programmer - I have to say that any Linux based operating system will do.

They all provide all of the tools you’ll need for pretty much any type of software development.
