hi, my question is if anyone knows how i can change the boot delay in the latest manjaro distribution?
I didn't find anything, thanks
and once i'm here, does anyone know how long to wait for mageia9-?

Can you give us, in code tags, such as I am using, the output of

cat /etc/default/grub

please?

And let us know what time you want to change it to.

On Mageia, end of life for v8 is supposed to be end of next month, so they are cutting it fine. I don't know other than that, and their Wiki does not reveal, on a cursory check. I have Mageia 8.

I would set the delay to 30

Basically you want to change that line that says

GRUB_TIMEOUT=5

to

GRUB_TIMEOUT=30

If you are comfortable with the Terminal, you can do that with a text editor such as nano

sudo nano /etc/default/grub

or you can do it from your File Manager if it allows you to elevate your privileges (I should have asked what Desktop Environment (DE) you are using.

In any event when you have edited, save and exit the altered file, and then run

sudo update-grub

and reboot and the changes should take effect.

Let me know if you need any more clarification, and let us know how you go.

I changed that, but in the editor - to be honest, I don't quite understand the commands:
e.g.
^0 - supposed to stand for save, but I pressed F2 to save...
maybe you just have to play around with the keys

Its a little ambiguous

^

stand for the ctrl key so to save its Control key , and whle holding down letter "o". Then it might come up with a prompt to the file you want to save just hit enter key

ctrl +x to exit etc

ctrl + g to get menu

Alright, and besides manjaro & windows11 i still have mageia8.manjaro dominating my bootloader.
if you could download mageia9 maybe in september - in my case should i just look for an online update in mageia8?
or is there a way to use the *.iso from mageia9 there?
As far as I know, the operating systems should get mixed up...
