I started using linux recently, prompted me to this is the need to compile the program for a VPS server. Use the linux virtual machine with VirtualBox. Three days I chose a different linux OS. Some were not established, hang. Finally chosen more or less suitable PcLinuxOS. Two days I tried to throw me the necessary program from the host Windows in PcLinuxOS. Before I could not. I uploaded a file to the Internet and downloaded it in PcLinuxOS.
When i try to compile a library for BlitzMax I got the error - not enough file X11/Xlib.h (such as the so called -- or I can't say -- takes long to load the virtual machine). While searching the Internet for another day has found the information that I need xorg-x11-devel.
Tried to install it via the console:

apt-get install xorg-x11-devel

and the console answered me as follows:

no files or directories.

I'm tired negotiate with Linux, very tired...

How do I do so that I have everything compiled? :(
P.S. sory for bad english.

No I have not tried to use Synaptic (Package Manager). I do not know how to perform even the simplest operations in linux, since I'm a novice. If you could give commands to the console I would have entered into the console.

I have this tool alredy. How i need to do to install Xlib.h?

apt-get install xorg-dev

The package name is different in Debian and RedHat systems.
