That article pretty much covers it. You can burn the iso to a usb stick or a dvd, and go from there. You may have to enter the bios setup to enable booting from usb, or dvd.

welcome to the forums
installation is basically the same for any distribution, BUT as a beginner I would advise you to select the "install alongside" option [this will stop you making errors you may not be able to fix] and always select to install non-free proprietary drivers [this will give you the best chance of it "working out the box" but you may still have to make a few tweaks.

There's also usually a one time boot menu that you can use instead of changing the boot preferences in the BIOS. It's a key-press during the boot phase that lets you temporarily/just once boot to USB, HDD, CD/DVD, or maybe even SD Card.

What is the make and model of your laptop.

If we know the make and model of your laptop we can tell you what F key to use to boot into the boot menu.
