What is the make and model of your laptop?
What distribution of Linux are you trying to install?

Before you install Linux we need to know the exact make and model of your Lenovo laptop.

1. Plug in the usb of Linux with the laptop turned off.
2. Turn the laptop on and enter the BIOS and go to the boot section and make your usb the first choice in the boot menu.
3. Save & Exit the BIOS and the laptop should reboot and take you into the Linux install.

IF your Lenovo laptop is 'new' I'd think that you have UEFI BIOS so you will also need to disable the secure boot too.

Here's the instructions for setting a BIOS password.

Turn on your computer and press F1 to enter BIOS. Enter the option which is called "Security". Choose "Change Supervisor Password" and setup the BIOS password. Once this is complete, choose "Set User Password" to setup the power on passwords.
