memtest isn't in my grub. So, I tried installing it by reading various manuals. I did these:

Code:
sudo apt update
sudo apt -y install memtest86+
But memtest86+ still doesn't show up at the grub.
I instead used memtester but I'm not sure of its quality of checking. That's why.

I can't say why it doesn't show up in the grub menu. However, usually after the update command, one commonly runs the upgrade command to bring the machine up to date, and then installs the relevant program. You could check grub's config file at /boot/grub/grub.cfg, or wherever your grub.cfg is and grep it to see if memtest is mentioned in there. If not, grub won't know about it so it won't appear in grub's menu. Alternatively, you could run memtest86+ from a live disk.

Let's just clarify that for the OP and the readers. :)

@balenshah if you did not run

Code:
sudo update-grub

and then reboot, the entry for memtest will not appear.

If that is the case, then can you try it and report back?

Thanks, and thanks to @osprey

Ubuntu lost. It was coming on boot ">grub:" and I didn't know what to type.
Should reinstall again. With windows this time. Is there a tutorial on linux.org about it? install linux+windows10 in same ssd?

I'd probably Google something like

how dual boot windows and linux

Put your Windows on first and then follow one of the guides.

Of cause it's also in the Mint Grub Menu too.
