You can't. Well, actually you could, but by doing so you'll remove your desktop as well since it depends on some gnome stuff. Is that DE Unity or Gnome?

it's unity, which means it is before 18.04

what version, Leonardo?

i installed it in Ubuntu 18.04 and end up with unity 7.5 .
  1. I sudo apt update
  2. sudo apt install ubuntu-unity-desktop
  3. configure ligtdm
  4. sudo shutdown -r now
  5. sudo apt remove gnome-shell
now i wanta to remove gnome- setting " settings"

I wonder if Ubuntu 18.04 with Unity 7.5 is still using a number of Gnome apps?
I have a suspicion that trying to completely remove "settings" may lead to "borkage".

Perhaps just remove the icon and forget about it? Or is there something about "settings" which is bothersome?

the only solution you have is to delete app by app, package by package
