How to change primary group during the linux login?

In my work env, the default primary group is not the correct one. I usually change it with "newgrp" as soon as i logged in the system,SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 (x86_64).

Since "newgrp" will launch a new shell, such thing could not be done in the shell rc file.

Also it can't be udpate with "usermod" since my account isn't a local account.

Is there a way to accomplish it during the login, like adding some alternative command in the shell rc file?

Thanks in adv.
