how do i use masq instead of snat at shorewall

Hello all.

I have on debian 11 Shorewall version 5.2.3.4.
now i want to create a few masq rules via webmin egter as soon as i click on check configuration all settings are moved to /etc/shorewall/snat and /etc/shorewall/masq it is renamed to /etc/shorewall/masq.bak.
can anyone tell me how to get shorewaal to use /etc/shorewall/masq and not change the files because I don't want to use /etc/shorewall/snat.
