Guest
I recently made I thread I feel like removing now. I want to delete it. But there is no delete option, can I please have a moderator delete it?

Hope it's not possible? Why? Just how do I delete one?

Why? Other members have spent their time and energy to take a part in the discussion and making it possible to remove everything would be unfair and discouraging. I used to be a member on a forum where one guy kept doing exactly that. One day you had a busy thread with many users involved and the next day everything was gone. That was literally insane.

I guess you are right. I could just say God bless them for helping me get advice.

We don't tend to remove threads where multiple people have commented.

I'll happily remove a thread if it's just your comments that will be removed.

The key here is to think carefully before pressing the post button. You can try editing your posts, if that matters to you.

just to explain a little further....I have 3 pc's running constantly

I use gmail for my email......and I use thunderbird to access those gmail emails

Thunderbird is a default app on Linux Mint ....so it is installed on all 3 pc's

It receives exactly the same emails when a topic is updated /started etc at Linux.org.....so It doesnot matter which pc I am in front of I can access a reply/update etc at any one of them

And, you can login to Linux.org at more than one pc, at the same time.

It is a bit messy, but you can do it without causing dramas

How do you access your email?

@kmskns welcome to linux.org.

Any member of Staff can delete the thread at https://www.linux.org/threads/i-am-...on-my-main-pc-never-mind-now-too-risky.55419/

...but I note that it appears to have had the title edited perhaps by yourself to add the part at the end in brackets. "never mind now, too risky".

I also note your saying above

The PC runs Debian BTW. I love it!

As fellow staffer @KGIII has noted
We don't tend to remove threads where multiple people have commented.

... and to that effect, I also note the comments of new member @Tomedi at #5 above, and there is merit in that.

If you think you are happy to stay with us, and you think you will continue to use (and enjoy) Linux, I would suggest you revisit that thread one more time and remove the bit in brackets.

Good luck with your choices.
