I decided to come here because it seems like the folks @ https://ubuntuforums.org/index.php are ignoring my posts. So I figured I'd get better Ubuntu Linux support here.

I did try going to> http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/ but I got no account activation email from them but I did get one from the folks here. I hope you guys will give me better support for my Ubuntu Linux.

Hello @Eddie Paul Litz and welcome to linux.org :D

I hope you guys will give me better support for my Ubuntu Linux.

Don't be mislead by our site's name, we are not an official organ of Linux, just happy volunteers who enjoy helping others to better enjoy their Linux adventures :p.

I am from Australia, so timezones may affect some of the timing for responses, but we have quite a number of helpers here from different parts of the world, so you will not be neglected.

If you are not getting any joy from another forum, it may be better to close your question there, or else keep us apprised of any advice you are getting elsewhere, so there is minimal conflict.

Enjoy, and cheers

Wizard

Welcome aboard, Mate! I see that Wiz is right on the ball, as usual:D. What is your hardware setup, and what is the problem that you have?

Happy Trails,
Paul

P.S. Welcome back wiz. That third arm must be pretty handy (pun intended).:p

Where would I type my Hardware setup @?

Hello Eddie :)

My personal druther (I'd rather do this, I'd rather use that ... druther) is

Code:
inxi -Fxs
, typed at Terminal. I also think it is handy to save its output as a text file, for future reference, but that's up to you.

No personal information disclosed, but gives us a broad picture of your environment. As an example, mine is in the Spoiler (just click)

Then, as Paul (@VP9KS ) has said, let us know the problem and we'll see how we go?

Cheers

BTW - Paul, you know the jokes are going to have to get better before we even consider making you an honourary Aussie

Aw, shucks, Wiz! I'm trying as hard as I can to upgrade my humor software, but I just canna find the correct files! :D:D. Please, Please give me another chance:p:p.

Eddie,
I was wondering, are you using a laptop, or desktop? What processor, how much memory, display, etc? It could be a hardware issue, or a software issue. It helps to have all the available info, "the big picture", so to speak.:).

Happy Trails,
Paul

Where do I find all that info?

Welcome - yes I know I'm a bit late, but unlike Wiz who flies between time zones, I need me sleep. :p:p If you copy and paste your details, it would give others an idea of what you have and where your problem might be. You can find this via System information or through the terminal - if I remember lspci . Linux Trading Academy.com used to have a free list of terminal commands.

One final thing, as this forum is distro specific it is more open and I find it more friendly, because we all share our experiences and enjoy being here and helping others.
