Headphones Not Working?

That confirms that there are some that work with that funky headphone/microphone jack and some that don't.

That's a nice confirmation. It may make replacing your nice Bose with something similar a bit difficult. You'll need to know that they work with that type of jack. Maybe they mention it somewhere? I'd like to hope so but I found scant information from the people selling headphones.
That's true, but I can afford more expensive gaming headphones. I just don't really enjoy the majority of them, because I like simpler stuff and find they look kind of ridiculous (RGB equipment is undeniably the bane of my existence). I think the main thing that lets one know if they work is if they have both output (headphones) and input (microphone) as well as a 3.5 mm jack. Not a definite thing though.

I do have a solution for you. It's clunky, but it should work.

You just plug it into your USB port and it adds a new sound card.

.....and they DO work. I'll confirm that.

I have a couple of them. And as previously mentioned, all my headphones/headsets are USB anyway.....with their own built-in soundcards (and their own controls).

Much the simplest audio solution under Linux.

Mike. ;)
