Agree. Kali is very much a niche distro. It's meant for security testing, but that does not make it more secure or even more sophisticated. It's much better to start/stay with one of the *buntu versions or the cousins like Mint.

If your new to Linux I recommend giving Linux Mint if you have 1 GB of RAM or try a more lightweight distro like Linux Lite or Lubuntu.
