Just as a random weird experiment to see how much performance I can squeeze out of this HP Mini Netbook, I made another attempt to install Gentoo from a tutorial on TechMint. http://www.tecmint.com/gentoo-linux-installation-guide/
Unfortunately, this author hasn't yet followed up with the desktop portion. So for now, I have a command line Gentoo on this Netbook built using the GenKernel option. I'm wondering if I have to further edit the Kernel to prepare it for Xorg? Do I just install Xorg, a DM, and a WM / Desktop of my choice with Emerge?
Just wondered if anyone had tips for getting the desktop. Hate to get this far and mess it up or follow unnecessary steps if the GenKernel should already have settings / modes in place.
