Hello all

I am as newbie as it gets when it comes to Linux, so bare with me!
I downloaded the ISO's from the redhat site for version 5.5. Please, see attached image for list of ISO's
I started installing in a VM workstation and after the 3rd ISO, I wasn't told to insert the next next one and the OS booted to the desktop as if the installation was complete.
Can somebody explain if this is as designed? What are the remaining disks used for (4 & 5)?
What about disk number 6? What about the 5 different driver update disks? How do I use them, do I need to use them?
Thanks in advance!
A

I can't comment with direct experience of RHEL, but e.g. Debian has 6 (?) install disks. If you are installing extra stuff from the Internet then you don't need 6 disks, you just need 1!

O.K. you could say that I can't connect to the Internet and want to install everything, to create a local Repository. Yes, but the extra stuff: 1) Might be never used and (2) Will go out of date and is incapable of being updated.

Is the latest RHEL 7?
