I can't restore Ubuntu to its programs from the iso that comes with the download, I used all the methods: rm, remove, going to the configuration files, I do it directly from the machine because I don't have a pendrive backup to format it from USB.

I'm not sure what you're asking; let alone you've not said what Ubuntu product, what architecture or provided specifics.

Most OSes (inc. Ubuntu) don't include a capacity to roll back changes by users; that's usually handled by backups. Some filesystems allow rollback, but Ubuntu's default for most installs is a simpler file-system that doesn't provide that (rollback capabilities increased overhead, use extra disk space, and most users prefer the faster/simpler fs that doesn't include rollback thus why its default; those that prefer rollback capabilities usually direct the installer to the alternative fs they prefer etc). Ubuntu does provide backup tools; but its up to the user to select and use the method most appropriate for their use-case, and default tool varies on unstated product.

You maybe able to do a non-destructive re-install from your ISO, but you didn't provide any product or release details, as options vary on that unspecified detail. I have written about what I'm talking about here which may or may not be anything like what you're wanting anyway. That option used to be listed as the repair install option a decade or more ago (the repair option was removed from the easy installer options as it does have limits to what it can do).

Do you have Timeshift set up ?

It is not a requirement to have your correct age on this site....but...it often proves helpful in determining the extent of knowledge a member may or may not have

Correct, thank you. So as you indicated, one way is to make a backup before starting to use the system and the other is to install from the ISO again from the beginning. So I will download version 24.04 again, which is the one I am using.
