Find out your Dell service tag via the command line

Code:

dmidecode -s system-serial-number

That will show you the 7 digit dell service tag number.

Then go here to look it up:

http://support.dell.com/support/top...t/my_systems_info/en/details?c=us&l=en&s=hied

BTW, if you didn't know about the dmidecode command, try it now - you'll probably want to pipe it through less:
