error while accessing remote desktop running peta linux

i am trying to access a remote desktop pc running peta linux using remote desktop connection in windows but while accessing it i am getting a grey blank screen .Is there any other method to access it (software ) or please suggest any method to remove this error .

I have never heard of PetaLinux, what connection method did you choose? VNC or Xorg? And do you have a desktop environment installed?
