I am brand new to Linux and just installed Debian 9 - I installed on a Dell T140 server, bare metal config

When I go to Network - it shows both NICs but only 1 NIC port can be active at one time. If I try to turn the 2nd port on, it will turn off the port 1. I need both active

Can this be resolved using graphical interface? I am not comfortable with Linux CLI and do not want to further complicate the issue.

Thank you all!

Not an answer:

Debian 9 reached EOL in just a short while.

As you're just this far into it, I'd suggest going for the longest support option you can - which will also mean newer software and also may make resolving this issue easier.

Unfortunately, the project that requires this O/S is only supported on this flavor of Linux. Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your reply as well :)

If something has Debian 9 support I'm sure it will probably work with Debian 10 or 11.
