I have an older dell sever R720xd which has a tg3 redhat linux 7.x driver which works with a Broadcom 5720 2 port.
(We used centos 7.x for this card)

But now were upgrading servers and wondering if redhat 9.x driver that support the Boadcom 5720 4 or QUAD port.
Is it the same tg3 driver? because both rhel 9.x and almalinux ( our replacemnt for centos ) 9.4 do.

Does the 4 port device have the same PCI device id as the 2 port?
Does the tg3 drive support both 2 and 4 ports?

Redhat has certified my server hardware, but when I search to see if they certified this card I cannot find it.

I don't want to buy a $6k server I can't return.

Another options was the intel i350 quad port it looks like redhat has certified it ( which means support and that it actually works I assume ) for rhel 9.4

Does this help?
