I am thinking of purchasing a drawing tablet but I have read that a lot of users have difficulty getting them to work in Linux?????
Can anyone recommend a tablet that will work out of the box with Mint 19.3.

Regards Bob

Hi & Welcome to Linux.org.

This article looks like a starting point.

Google is your friend.

I have a Wacom Bamboo tablet. It's ~10 years old so it "just works", these days. Back when I started, I had to use the HID X11 module, xserver-xorg-input-wacom.

Two other considerations:

1. A lot of folks are using iPads instead since they're cheaper than Cintiqs.

2. If you're not hung up on pressure sensitivity, you can grab a 10" Android pen tablet and use this remote desktop app: https://anydesk.com/en/downloads/
It supports everything, Windows, Mac, GNU/Linux, Android, and even FreeBSD. Only downside is it's closed from what I see. However, it'll save you a lot of cash.
