New point release of Debian 12 stable branch.
Mostly a security update. If you already have Debian 12 installed you should get .8 with your next update. If your just now installing and using the net install you will get .8 also , if your use the downloaded live or complete DVD/USB you will need to update the install after it is finished. If your just now thinking of downloading install image you may want to wait a couple days to get the latest version. In any event enjoy.

I received an e-mail from the Debian Security Team during this week about the update for this Saturday.....so that's one of the pluses of being on their mailing list's.
Thanks for the link.

I'm currently running Slackware this morning and not booted into my Debian 12 install.

Do you know @kc1di if I run:
Code:
cat /etc/os-release
If it will show me the point release?

no
Code:
cat /etc/os-release
only shows Debian 12 Bookworm not the point release.
But this one will
Code:
cat /etc/debian_version

no
Code:
cat /etc/os-release
only shows Debian 12 Bookworm not the point release.
But this one will
Code:
cat /etc/debian_version
Thanks!
Code:
a@debian-box:~$ cat /etc/debian_version
12.8
