I've seen this before, but kind of forgot about it.


I learned a few things. Gnome tales up more RAM than expected (comparitatively)
More people use KDE than I would have expected.

Interesting to note that lxqt doesn't support HiDPI.
It looks like this is a little dated. Gnome 4.2 has some options that show
as disabled on this page.
But I think it's a good base-line.

Thanks for the latest I've seen comparison.
Good to keep in mind KDE Plasma is not that heavy any more, relatively speaking.

I am all for Xfce it does a nice job and doesn’t consume too much ram. Runs really well with Linuxlite on a netbook with 2 gig ram. I turned compositer off. Refracta my other machine uses has Xfce as well.
