Data... not recovery but rather "retrieval"

My question pertains to the following topic I posted:

The HDD is a mess of fumbled repair attempts and unfinished half-rolled back windows updates. I have recovered most of the urgent files except one, it report a following error:

How would I best go about retrieving the folder in question?
 


That there's usually a disk error. You can try copying it to alternative media. Instead of copying it to the disk you were trying, try another destination disk.
 
I AM copying it from a different disk. I have recovered all the other folders from the affected drive to the parent drive, except this one won't give.
 
You might have lost the data then. There's data recovery software like photorec, but that's mostly used if you've accidentally deleted stuff. It might be able to recover this but I'd not count on it.
