It is confusing. It's a fooler.
yay im moving on. My next question is how do i change linux mint 20.3 repositories to debian?Nice. That explains that.
So, yeah, it's still in beta. I'd just report it as a bug and move on about my day.
Normally, I'd consider testing this myself in a VM. But, my DSL line is out and may be out for a couple of weeks due to Mother Nature being particularly moody. So, I'm using my cell phone - which is not even remotely 'broadband'. While my ability to tether/bandwidth is unlimited, it's pretty slow - and sporadic.
This ideapad320 is just a test machine . nothing i use on daily bases
What I *think* I know to be correct:
Sorry David, no cigar on this occasion
There is also "The College of Hard Knocks" LOL
now that you mention bugs i actually did find some bugs in non free drivers on debian 11 that are related to network and backlight on this laptop. had debian sucefually install one time and it was bloated. dont know what linux distro to try.I had been running Debian-based distros for a few years (siduction, antiX, Crunchbang, etc,) when I tried LMDE (I think it was 3). I found an irritating bug (can't remember what exctly it was) so I joined the Mint Forums and reported it to thet devs there. Tried to get an answer more than once but was blown off. I came to the conclusion that Mint devs must consider LMDE like a stepchild. So I blew Mint off and have not tried it since, IMO, LMDE is not worth the effort -- may as well go with antiX and use the unstable repos -- less trouble!I
