Conky transparency not working - Solved

I'm trying to get the background of my Conky window transparent or semi-transparent, but nothing is working. Right now it's just solid black

I've tried:
Own_window_transparent = true
Own_window_argb_visual = true
Different values for own_window_argb_value, own_window_class, and own_window_type

I'm running Gentoo with Fluxbox, Openrc, Xorg

I don’t know offhand, but I recall having to install a separate compositor, in order to get transparency support in a couple of WMs, back in the day.

One of the compositors I tried was xcompmgr. I think compton was another one.

A quick bit of DuckDuckGo-fu yielded this:

The program xcompmgr handles many different composite effects concerning transparency and fading, and does so very well with fluxbox on my computer. Which may help. It’s from 2009 though, so it might be a bit dated!
