so i personally leased 12 cpus from my company, when we left the laptops were ours and we took them with us, the previous company is no longer in business and i want to remove the computrace that is installed on them. im using one now and have been using them for over a year with no issues but have since upgraded equipment and would like to sell these. i have installed Linux on all of them since this is now my system of choice. i just don't know how to remove it or if it even works with Linux.

G'day @joe demarco and welcome to linux.org :)

I do not have personal knowledge on computrace, but a Google search under

linux computrace

revealed, amongst others, the following

https://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=114641

It starts in 2014, but has 4 pages, and input as recently as September last year. The main thrust appears to be in the first post.

Cheers
