CMD not working

When I start terminal I will type command and cursor just blinks, any help appreciated.
 


sounds like the plasma manifold is out of alignment with the warp core.

We need more information such as what command you are typing.
 
I would vote for the whatsimacallit being juxtaposed by the thigamijig

Point taken, using 2011 mac book pro with Linux Mint 22. Typed the "ls" command, hit enter and cursor just flashes. Linux Mint only OS on HDD. Watching too many youtube videos and probably caused this myself trying to learn terminal commands.
 
what happens when you type lsusb then enter
 
really dumb question but are you sure your enter key is working? serious question.
 
ok first thing I would try is .. Using the mint software manager uninstall the terminal [keep a note of which one it is] do a full power re-boot, then reinstall the terminal using the mint software manager, and try again [doing this you may need to open the new installation via the mint menu, not short cut

CMD not working? are coming from windows?
When you type are you using...

lower case "L" ie: ls
or
uppercase "I" ("eye") ie: Is
