Hello,

yesterday my ubuntu based NAS doesn't allow me to login anymore. It's acting in a very strange way so made a 30 secs video to show you how exactly:

As you can see it's like the enter key is stuck but not permanently. it allow me to type something ramdomly (like in the video) o the correct password. I press "enter" just 1 time after "tom"

I changed keyboard and I can correctly login via recovery mode so I guess it's not an hardware issue.

any suggestion?
Thanks a lot

G'day @gekomax and welcome to linux.org :)

I don't use server myself, but I'll move this Thread to General Server where it may attract the attention you need.

Good luck

Hey there gekomax - welcome to the site!

I'm assuming you're logging in on the machine itself and not over the network.

I'd try a couple different things here. In my opinion, i'm thinking there's something wonky on the system itself.. if a system spikes and runs out of memory, some processes may stop and/or may not come back up correctly, so i'd first try rebooting it.

During boot, keep an eye out for any hardware failures/warnings.

If you can't log in at that point, i'd then try logging in remotely with SSH if you have the ssh port open..

Let us know how it goes!
