I am trying to install "Canon i-SENSYS LBP6200d" printer on "Ubuntu 10.10", but doesn't seem to work.

Please help me as is important to me to have my printer working!

You might have to search for the Printers drivers at the Canon's website :

Select Download type as : Software drivers > Choose Linux from the list and click search. You'll find the download link
 
I had a similar problem with a Brother printer, it depends how the manufacturer provides the drivers: whether they're packed or for Debian, etc.

I found out that the easiest way to install the printer was through SAMBA sharing.

If you're printer supports wireless connections then it shouldn't be a problem, if not I'll think you had to look deep into google to find the fix because Canon printers are well known for not working well with linux OS. via http://printon3d.com/best-wireless-printer/
