Hi,

I need to install a software called QCMA but I simply cannot even though I directly follow the instructions on the website.

When I attempt to install the deb package, I get "Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libvitamtp5 (>= 2.5.5)".

I still cannot install it even I follow the second path ("Add repository and install manually"). When I run the command
Code:
sudo sh -c "echo 'deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/codestation/xUbuntu_18.04/ /' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/home:codestation.list"
, I get no feedback. After that, I run the following lines:
Code:
sudo apt-get update
,
Code:
sudo apt-get install qcma
. This time, I encounter this message:
E: Unable to locate package qcma
.

I'd really use some help,
Thank you.

sudo sh -c "echo 'deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/codestation/xUbuntu_18.04/ /' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/home:codestation.list"
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install qcma

3 separate commands....press enter after each one

Give it a try

EDIT...just noticed ...mine appears to whatever you already had.......did you enter them (COPY AND PASTE )separately and press Enter after each one ?

You may have to wait for someone better versed than me !

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
qcma : Depends: libavcodec57 (>= 7:3.4.2) but it is not installable or
libavcodec-extra57 (>= 7:3.4.2) but it is not installable
Depends: libavformat57 (>= 7:3.4.2) but it is not installable
Depends: libavutil55 (>= 7:3.4.2) but it is not installable
Depends: libqt5core5a (>= 5.9.0~beta) but 5.5.1+dfsg-16ubuntu7.5 is to be installed
Depends: libswscale4 (>= 7:3.4.2) but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

E: The repository 'http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/codestation/xUbuntu_16.04 Release' is not signed.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.

Have you added the key?

You can add the repository key to apt. Keep in mind that the owner of the key may distribute updates, packages and repositories that your system will trust (more information). To add the key, run:
wget -nv https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:codestation/xUbuntu_18.04/Release.key -O Release.key
sudo apt-key add - < Release.key
sudo apt-get update
- source https://software.opensuse.org/download/package?project=home:codestation&package=qcma

Run this command in a Terminal
Code:
sudo apt-key add - < Release.key

It might shout for a keyring.
