Hello..
I've an old notebook with Pentium B950 2.1 Ghz, 2MB processor running Windows 7. A few Months ago, I had it as multi boot system where I tried almost hundred of Linux distros and I had not been facing any issues. then I decided to wipe the drive and Installed Windows 7. After installing Windows 7, I cant install and even run live media of Linux in any way. What it seems is there is no taskbar, no desktop icon, nothing at all, whatever Linux distro would it be. Current Windows 7 is in 64bit and I've tried Ubuntu 16.04 64bit, Ubuntu 14.04.4 64bit, Mint Tessa 64bit, Manjaro KDE 64bit and Deepin 64bit, I also tried running 32bit Mint but the results are same with all of those.
I've tried resetting BIOS, no work, Disabling UEFI boot, no work. there is no option for secure boot in my BIOS and my Windows 7 is installed in MBR partition.
I've checked my hdd with a different Laptop, works well.
there are no new hardware i've installed any. I want help from you guys, I want to use Linux on the Laptop as primary OS. Please Help.
Note: Though there are no taskbar and any items on the desktop at all,Right click works and Alt+Ctrl+t brings the terminal.
Thanks

Have a read and read as many times as needed.
It is written for Linux Mint however will work for most Linux Distros.

It is pertinent to post system make and model as asked for by arochester in post #2 this way better advice can be given for a solution.

This is what I got after booting to Linux mint live usb, right click works here

1) Your picture shows an LG monitor. Why does it not show the screen of your notebook?
2) If you are purposefully showing on an external monitor could it have something to do with the monitor resolution i.e. is it cutting off the bottom? Are there and scroll bars on the side so it can move down?
3) Is "taskbar" the correct word? Do you mean "panel"? I have had panels in xfce4 disappear before. https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=296619
4) Probably not the problem or answer but the panel can be made to disappear/appear. If the cursor is moved to the bottom it can be seen. If the cursor is moved away it disappears again.

My laptop sceen has some damaged line so I did think of make it such way will easy to capture original, understandable picture.
There are no difference between laptop screen and this monitor.

Screen resolution would be my first guess. Especially when using an external monitor.

Does pressing F11 have any effect ?

Just a bump

Unplug the monitor and try booting the live usb on the laptop in order to see if there the panel will appear normally. If it doesn't, there's a good chance the program you used for uploading mint on the usb stick has messed up something.
So, do what I suggested and if you still can't find the panel (taskbar, as you called it), use Rosa Image Writer for Windows: http://wiki.rosalab.ru/en/images/6/62/RosaImageWriter-2.6.2-win.zip
It's designed to upload linux distributions on a flash drive and works excellent! I've used it countless times and never had a single problem when booting the distro from the flash drive.
Use that program only if you can't find the panel on your laptop. But if there is a panel on the laptop, then I have no idea what could have gone wrong.
