busybox v1. 36.1 (debian 1:1.36.1-6) built-in shell (ash)

busybox 1.36.1 built-in ash shell... what about it?

I use it all the time both interactively and in scripting. Different installations have different subsets of the entire list of utilities compiled in, though I'm not sure if that would affect the overall version number of "busybox". Not all of the busybox built-in utilities have all the features of their stand-alone counterparts, though the whole point is to include the "important" stuff. The busybox "ash" shell is certainly not functionally the same as the "bash" shell, nor is it intended to be.

In my system (running Tiny Core 15.0 on x86_64), busybox ash is the default shell and I only load bash when I happen to want to use some third party script that explicitly requires it (which is ti say, almost never).

Perhaps I can help if you describe the error you are encountering with busybox ash. There's a decent chance I've either worked around it at one time another. Of course there's also a decent chance that it involves some feature that's included in the busybox in your OS but not in mine.
