so when windows11 updated a couple weeks ago I could not open open tails. so I disabled secure boot to access tails on my usb. I had to obtain bitlocker key number to complete this step. after everything was complete i was able once again to run tails os live. Now I'm trying to install linux mint cinnamon for duel/multi boot and its tellin me to turn off bitlocker. There is a hyperlink to follow for instructions on turning off bitlocker. But ever since i disabled sercure boot I can not find anything on my device concerning bitlocker, to turn on or off. Bitlocker option was available but i do not see it anymore. Any advice is greatly appreciated.......

your best option is to dump bitlocker while running windows. It could take a few hours to remove so be patient as it decrypts everything. encrypting your drive is unnecessary. It only prevents somebody from taking the drive out of your computer and attempting to access the files. It does nothing to prevent hacking. Hacking is done while your computer is active and the bitlocker encryption is useless at that point. So unless you are expecting somebody to steal the drive (not the whole computer) then bitlocker is great. Otherwise it is a problem. If something happens and you can't boot the computer, everything on the drive is lost. Most people do not keep bitlocker keys.
sorry for the tangent. bottom line is get rid of bitlocker while windows is running and make sure the system is not disturbed or powered off for several hours while it undoes what it did.

Hey man I just wanted to express my gratitude, thanks for that link and the advice. I would of never figured out how to remove bitlocker. But after that I was able to install a duel/multi boot system. Thanks for your help bro..
