After a half-year work on stability, the beta version of the game engine OpenXRay became available.

Random crashes are defeated, the render is improved (closer to the vanilla picture), the game can be completed.

Known bugs and problems:

When you exit the game, the process may hang
When switching between locations / reloading saves, the picture deteriorates, the game can crash (for now, it is decided only by restarting the game with the download of the save)
Saves and logs do not support UTF-8
The project is not going to clang

The game will need resources from the original game, they must be in ~/.local/share/GSC/SCOP/

For steam, you can get them as follows:

`steamcmd "+@sSteamCmdForcePlatformType windows" +login <username> +force_install_dir ~/.local/share/GSC/SCOP/ +app_update 41700 +quit`

If resources from the GOG, you need to bring all the paths to lower case (this is a feature of the engine)

Before starting the game, you need to fix the line in ~/.local/share/GSC/SCOP/_appdata_/user.ltx renderer renderer_r1 on renderer renderer_gl, and vid_mode 1024x768 to your permission, otherwise it will fly off.

PPA (for now only for bionic): https://launchpad.net/~eagleivg/+archive/ubuntu/openxray

Plans to further improve the rendering, support for resources from ClearSky (now in a separate WIP branch) and ShadowOfChernobyl.
