Hi,

I'm working on a project that I intend to run on a Beaglebone Black. Using the BBB's HDMI port, I will attach a 10" weatherproof high-contrast touchscreen. (This is a motorcycle application.) I want to be able to tap buttons to display a dashboard, GPS tracking, rear view camera and FLIR (Forward Looking InfraRed) camera. I've got most off the pieces I need but I'm running in circles trying to figure out how to create a custom UI for the project. Originally I thought I could use a web browser and write everything in HTML/Javascript/Python, but I don't think response will be fast enough. I've seen other Linux Internet appliances with touchscreen interfaces. What tools are best for creating a custom UI? The main screen will be a dashboard that shows current speed, time, duration, maximum speed, average speed, temperature, etc . By punching a button, the user will be able to select GPS, weather map, backup camera, FLIR and anything else I decide to add. What tools should I be looking at?

Thanks.
