This is just to more properly say hello - you've already been very welcoming on the threads I posted regarding use of Linux Mint on a laptop and separately regarding Linux on a smartphone.
It's something of a pleasure to encounter a 'how to' forum with a friendly feel - one that's not populated by know-it-alls..
The computer as said elsewhere is a tool for me - I'm very definitely a user rather than a programmer or anything like that.
I'm these days a retired for some years mechanical engineer in Ireland with a background in R&D and manufacturing management consulting. Primary interests these days are woodworking and associated machine improvements. That with garden maintenance (herself does the pretty side of it) keeps me well occupied during the day, evenings are for reading and related - hoping to figure out why it is that we're here...
