Beginning to die out now thanks [not] to social media, one thing that always accompanied a British holiday, was the sending of Post cards so here is one of my favourites

I'm going to not remove anything, though a couple are close to it.

Instead, I'm going to remind everyone that this is a site visited by children. As such, we try to keep it clean. You'll even notice a lack of swearing around these parts.

What we don't want is a parent watching their child visit the site and then seeing content not fit for children their age. Yes, that is a thing. In fact, it's probably for the best to know what your children are doing online.

Anyhow, I'm just making it a point to remind folks of this.

NOTE: Another mod may see fit to remove some of the comments. I'd not be surprised if they do. Like I said, a couple are 'close to it'.

Though, one reminds me of a song (which is one of the ones closer to the line)... I'll share a lyric from the song and we'll hope that the song isn't obscure and that everyone knows it:

"Lad I don't know where you've been, but I see you've won first prize!"

thats the difference on opposite sides of the pond, these cards [some may be considered racialist by modern standards ] have been on open display in UK sea side resorts for the last 60 years

Oh, absolutely. In the US they'd be 'racy', or more 'extreme' prudes would consider them outright vulgar.

There are areas in the world where they're likely to be prohibited by law.

So, I aim to strike a balance. 'Snot easy at times, but I muddle my way through it.

British sea side [otherwise known as saucy] also transmuted onto the big screen in the Carry on film franchise, the following is one of my favourite clips

I've actually been to Blackpool. I was in the UK for six months in one visit. Well, I flew home a half dozen times or so. I was working while there, including doing some data collection. You have a couple of 'magic roundabouts' which I also took some time to study while I was there.

One of the weirdest experiences I had was that we drive on the right and you drive on the left. I managed to adapt to that fairly well but then I took a ferry to France in a car rented in England. So, now I was driving on the 'wrong' side of the road, seated in the 'wrong' side of the car, and in very congested traffic.

You soon get the hang of it but when the wife shouts LOOK OUT there's a tree before you know it.

you can blame Napoleon for that, up to his rule in France [and beyond] most of Europe drove on the [or i should say rode] on the left, majority of people being right-handed, this gave them room to use their sward if attacked,
